How do I get back my brightness meter on my lenovo t400?

My bro completely reformatted my lenovo t400 and most of the Thinkvantage options were erased. Do I have to download a driver to get the volume display meter back onto my laptop? Thanks!

Yes, you have to reinstall those. The Lenovo proprietary softwares are on the CD that came with new laptop. If CD is gone, try downloading the softwares from Lenovo’s website.
